Uster Technologies AG welcomes FILARTEX as new member of the USTERIZED® club
- First spinning mill in Italy being USTERIZED® -
“Flexibility and custom-made products are our main resources!” That’s how Mr. Gualtiero Sepati, Quality & Production Manager of Filartex, explains the success of Filartex, Italian spinning mill with a long-standing tradition.

From November 23rd Filartex is a new member of the USTERIZED® club. By using the brand USTERIZED® and branding yarns with the USTERIZED® logo, our customers can emphasize the following competitive advantages:
|
Filartex, based in San Pancrazio/ Brescia, Northern Italy, was founded in 1958 by the Bonadei family. They are mainly focusing on the production of high-tech and high-quality yarns, such as Lycra core-spun yarns, cotton blends with technical fibers such as Polyester Dacron (CoolMax® or Thermolite®) or silver fiber (X-Static®), different types of effect yarn, yarns with medical application just to name a few. Their fiber usage covers an impressively wide range e.g. cotton, linen, viscose, Modal, Tencel, Kevlar, Cordura, carbon, wool, cashmere, silver and even milk fibers.
With an experience of almost 50 years in the textile industry, Filartex is able to develop yarns on top of the latest technology, always meeting their customers’ requirements. High quality, high efficiency and a wide range of products are the key of how to stand out from competitors.
Mr. Sepati, when asked about the future of the European spinning market, sees a positive prospect when working in the market of specialized textile applications and selective technical requirements.
One of Filartex best advantage is certainly the efficient quality management system, it was improved over the years and nothing is left to chance:
“Having excellent control instruments and highly specialized and motivated personnel are certainly two major points. Another essential tool for an efficient and well working quality management is a good monitoring system able to control very closely all data coming from the spinning mills to the laboratory: in case of any eventual irregularity, this is immediately noticed and we are able to react immediately, eliminating the source of the defect.”
Filartex produces from 3 years now ‘100% contamination-free material’ and never faced a single claim. For them this is a proof that the development of the process, from the purchase of raw material until the expedition of the yarn, is controlled and optimized without any exception on the highest possible level.
The benefit of being an USTERIZED® program member, says Mr. Sepati, is the research for quality that Uster Technologies AG stands for, this is a warranty to our customers regarding the control of the process, from the raw fiber to the yarn, focusing on an dynamic quality control system.

textile supply chain
The USTER® certificate stands for defined and certified quality within the textile chain.
USTERIZED® and QUALITY have been synonymous in the textile industry for more than 60 years. There is hardly any yarn, raw material or spinning process that is not tested with USTER® equipment.
2003, Uster Technologies AG launched the USTERIZED® program at ITMA, Birmingham. With this program USTER® allows selected spinners to provide their products with the USTERIZED® label and thus announce that their products have been manufactured to the highest professional quality standards.
Today, after 3 years, the USTERIZED® club comprises 37 spinning mills all over the world. Those spinning mills show their commitment to produce closely controlled and consistent quality by fulfilling all requirements to be granted the USTERIZED® certificate.
The comprehensive quality control possible with USTERIZED® lab systems and yarn clearers makes it possible to manufacture textiles of significantly better and more consistent quality. For retailers the USTERIZED® seal is a seal of trust – and it will be for their customers.
